Aire Valley Restaurant and Guest House is situated on the Great Ocean Road, west of Apollo Bay outside the hamlet of Hordern Vale. The Homestead dates originally from the 1890s and overlooks the lakes of the Aire River Wildlife Reserve and the Great Otway National Park.

The Aire Valley Restaurant specialises in the very best fresh food. Vegetables and herbs are picked from the garden each evening just before dinner. Meat is sourced directly from Colac and fish from local Victorian waters.

Aire Valley Guest House provides excellent accommodation on the Great Ocean Road. They pride themselves on their high standard of service from the moment you arrive. A perfect place to stay for your Great Ocean Road trip or your Great Ocean Walk adventure.

Perfectly situated, just west of Apollo Bay and close to all the attraction of the Otways. The 12 Apostles are within 70kms and the Cape Otway Lighthouse is just 16kms away.

Accommodation

All our rooms are ensuite and open out onto the wide verandah through French doors. A gourmet breakfast each morning is served featuring fresh free range eggs from our own hens.

Aire Valley Restaurant

Fresh ingredients is the main focus for the restaurant. Our fish and meats are locally sourced. Chef and Owner, Annabel Tunley has worked at Balmoral Castle in Scotland and the French influence of the menu comes from her time in Courchevel, France.

Our menu is kept small to ensure the ingredients are fresh. Enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner by the log fire in winter, and in summer, dining is on the verandah overlooking the lakes of the Great Ocean Road and the Aire River Wildlife Reserve, (sometimes known as our own African plain).

Our menu includes all the fresh ingredients from our garden and a selection of fresh fish. The menu can change on a daily basis depending on growth in the garden and what is fresh from our suppliers.

An excellent wine selection from local wines and Victorian wines has been carefully selected to compliment our restaurant menu.

Lunches featuring fresh salad from the garden, fresh fruit muffins can be ordered for the Great Ocean Walk.

The Aire Valley Restaurant Garden

Our position on the Great Ocean Road provides a sheltered position perfect for an abundance of fruits, berries, vegetables and herbs. To be able to grow and then pick our kitchen produce daily gives our restaurant the freshest ingredients available along the Great Ocean Road. Seasonal changes along the coast means a wide range of ingredients can be grown at different times of year.

Our two gardeners, Wendy Hart and John Swain ensure the quality of the produce at all times in the restaurant garden.

The Great Ocean Walk

The Great Ocean Walk has quickly become one the world's most iconic walks. Since the Great Ocean Walk opened in January 2006, Aire Valley Restaurant and Guest House has hosted many walkers who come to explore this magnificent coastline. Being 25kms from the beginning of the walk to the east at Apollo Bay and 70kms from the end of the walk to the west at the Twelve Apostles, near Port Campbell, Aire Valley Restaurant and Guest House is ideally located for joining the Great Ocean Walk at any point.
